ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu, a city pulsating with lively markets, bustling streets, vibrant temples, and majestic pagodas. Upon arrival, a representative from the Alpine Club of Himalaya will greet you at the airport and escort you to our accommodation. After a short rest, you can explore the town at your leisure or opt for a guided city tour, depending on your arrival time.

Later in the evening, your climbing guide will offer a briefing, providing you with all the necessary information about the upcoming trek. Join your team for a welcoming dinner program to kick off your adventure.

Day 2: Explore Kathmandu Valley and Expedition Preparation

Embark on an early morning drive towards Ramechhap, followed by a flight to Lukla. As you soar through the skies, you’ll witness scattered settlements and verdant hills, with glimpses of the majestic snow-capped Himalayas. After a scenic 20-minute flight, you’ll touch down in Lukla, a quaint settlement nestled atop a hill. This airstrip, established by Sir Edmund Hillary and the Sherpas in the mid-1960s, serves as the gateway to the Everest region.

Upon landing in Lukla and a brief respite, proceed towards the village of Phakding. Following the trail, your journey begins with a visit to Chauri Kharka, a picturesque settlement. Continuing along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, you’ll arrive at the village of Ghat, situated at an elevation of 2550 meters. Along the way, marvel at the sacred peak of Khumbila, one of the few unclimbed peaks in the Khumbu region. After a pleasant stroll, you’ll reach Phakding, nestled at 2,610 meters, a charming Sherpa town hidden amidst the lush Dudh Koshi Valley.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Ramechap and Fly to Lukla

Embark on an early morning drive towards Ramechhap, followed by a flight to Lukla. As you soar through the skies, you’ll witness scattered settlements and verdant hills, with glimpses of the majestic snow-capped Himalayas. After a scenic 20-minute flight, you’ll touch down in Lukla, a quaint settlement nestled atop a hill. Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Following an early breakfast, embark on the trail, crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Passing through Tok-Tok, Bhenkar, and Monjo, you’ll eventually reach the entrance gate of Sagarmatha National Park, where your permits will be checked. From here, the path continues along the riverbank for a few hours until you encounter the renowned Hillary suspension bridge. Crossing this iconic bridge, the trail then ascends towards Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar is renowned as the economic center of the region, offering a plethora of amenities including restaurants, cybercafés, pubs, post offices, ATMs, and banks.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Today marks the beginning of your acclimatization process, and Namche Bazaar offers several vantage points for acclimatization hikes. Consider embarking on a short hike to Everest View Resort, Thame, or Khunde, all of which are ideal locations for acclimatization. Later, take the opportunity to explore Namche Bazaar, the bustling economic center of the Everest and Khumbu region.

During your exploration, don’t miss the chance to visit the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of Sagarmatha National Park. Here, you can view relics of the pioneering mountaineers who first conquered Everest, as well as learn about Sherpa culture and traditions.

Day 6: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Today’s trek continues alongside the roaring glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi River, offering breathtaking views of the towering Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Taboche peak, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Thamserku, and Kwangde. As you follow the river, traversing through dense woodlands and sprawling undergrowth, you’ll be treated to miles of majestic scenery until you reach the village of Tengboche at an elevation of 3,800 meters.

Tengboche is renowned for housing the Khumbu region’s oldest Buddhist monastery, aptly named Tengboche Monastery. Perched amidst rugged terrain, this monastery provides a close-up view of the stunning Ama Dablam, often regarded as one of the world’s most picturesque mountain peaks. Take the time to explore the monastery’s ornate walls adorned with sculptures of Buddha, ancient musical instruments, and the robes of the Lamas. Additionally, immerse yourself in the trance-inducing hum and chanting of the monks, a truly captivating experience.

Day 7: Tengboche to Dingboche

The trek from Tengboche to Dingboche covers a relatively short distance of around four to five hours. Along the way, you’ll traverse high pasturelands and cross the Imja Khola. As you journey towards Dingboche, you’ll pass through the village of Pangboche, continuing onward through the settlements of Somare and Orsho.

Upon reaching Orsho, the trail diverges. One path leads up to Pheriche, where you’ll cross a suspension bridge before embarking on a brief uphill climb. The alternative route guides you directly to the settlement of Dingboche.

Day 8: Acclimatization in Dingboche Hike Chhukung-Ri

Today marks your second day of acclimatization in Dingboche, and this settlement offers numerous vantage points ideal for acclimatization excursions. After breakfast, embark on a hike to the Chhukung Valley, ascending the Imja Khola Valley amidst towering, formidable mountains. Navigate through a landscape marked by glacial moraines as you make your way towards the vantage point of Chhukung Ri, a rocky hill behind the village. From this elevated position, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of Lhotse, Makalu, Cho You, Cholatse, Taboche, Lobuche West, and Lobuche East.

After taking in the breathtaking vistas, return to Dingboche and spend the remainder of the day exploring the settlement and its surroundings.

Day 9: Dingboche to Chhukung

Today, your journey takes you towards Chukkung, where the trail leads through a sparsely vegetated alpine environment, characterized by arid landscapes dotted with occasional shrubs and herbs. As you ascend, be prepared to be awestruck by the splendid panoramas of prominent peaks such as Island Peak, Lhotse, Chukkung Ri, and Makalu.

Upon reaching the settlement of Chukkung, make your way to your tea house and take a moment to rest and rejuvenate. Then, set out to explore the surroundings, immersing yourself in the beauty of the landscape. As the day draws to a close, witness the breathtaking sunset vistas over the mountains, a sight that will surely leave an indelible impression on your journey.

Day 10: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp

The path from Chhukung is notably steep, initially climbing south before turning east to join the main line of the valley. From there, it winds along or below the southern flank of the moraine from the Lhotse Glacier. As you progress, you’ll encounter a short yet pleasant walk along a stream leading to a prominent landmark known as Big-rock.

Further ahead, the route to the Amphu Lapcha pass lies to the southeast. A challenging cross-country route through the Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines eventually leads to a wide valley flanking the southwest side of Island Peak.

Day 11-12: Climb to Island Peak

From this day onward, the climbing period begins. Following a successful summit of Island Peak, return to Base Camp to rest and celebrate your achievement.

Day 13: Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Pangboche, the oldest and highest permanent Sherpa settlement in the Khumbu region. The trek to Pangboche entails descending through various villages and sections of lush, dense forests. Upon reaching Pangboche, take some time to rest before setting out to visit the oldest Buddhist gompa in the entire Khumbu Region.

Day 14: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar

Today, depart from Pangboche and begin your descent towards Namche Bazaar. Trekking across hilltop settlements and through dense woodlands, you’ll make your way back to Namche. Upon reaching Namche, proceed to your tea house and settle in.

Later in the day, take the opportunity to explore the area and celebrate the success of your climb with your team members.

Day 15: Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Today, begin your trek towards Namche Bazaar, following a downhill hike along the Dudh Koshi River route. Along the way, you’ll cross several suspension bridges and pass through various ancient monasteries and settlements. As you continue on the trail, soaking in the final sights of the majestic mountains, you’ll eventually arrive back at Lukla.

Upon reaching Lukla, take some time to rest and reflect on your incredible journey through the mountains. Later in the day, celebrate your last day in the mountains with your fellow trekkers, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences you’ve shared.

Day 16: Lukla to Ramechap and drive Kathmandu

After breakfast, say farewell to the mountains and board a flight to Ramechap. Upon landing, take a brief break before embarking on a drive to Kathmandu. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, take some time to rest and rejuvenate.

Later in the day, explore Thamel, the vibrant tourist hub of the region, known for its bustling streets, colorful shops, and lively atmosphere.

Day 17: Free day at Kathmandu

Today, you have a free day to explore the city at your leisure or opt for a guided tour to uncover the various secrets of the Kathmandu Valley. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture, history, and beauty of this vibrant city.

In the evening, join in for a special farewell dinner to commemorate the end of your successful expedition, celebrating the memories made and the accomplishments achieved.

Day 18: Final Departure

Day 18: Final Departure

Today marks the culmination of your unforgettable journey in Nepal. After breakfast, take some time to pack your belongings and bid farewell to the beautiful city of Kathmandu. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to explore any last-minute sights or do some souvenir shopping.

When the time comes, our representative will escort you to the airport for your departure. Reflect on the incredible experiences and memories you’ve made during your expedition in the Himalayas.
