DESCRIPTION
Embark on a captivating journey to the Mountain Kingdom of Bhutan, where unique traditions, cultures, and natural wonders await. As the last remaining Buddhist Kingdom in the Himalayas, Bhutan is dedicated to preserving its distinct identity while gradually engaging with the outside world. Here, you’ll encounter warm and hospitable people who uphold principles of peace, tolerance, and non-violence.
Nestled between the colossal nations of China and India, Bhutan is a small landlocked country in the Eastern Himalayas. Its northern region is adorned with the towering White Mountains, while the southern region is cloaked in thick, dense jungles that have remained unchanged for centuries. Despite its modest size, Bhutan is renowned as the happiest country in Asia, with its people embracing the four main pillars of good governance, sustainable economy, cultural preservation, and environmental protection.
Your Bhutan tour begins in the charming city of Paro, known for its ancient monasteries, Dzongs, and rich cultural heritage. From there, journey to the capital city of Thimphu, where you’ll explore ancient chortens, nunneries, and the impressive Trashichhoedzong, also known as the Fortress of the Glorious Religion. Continuing on, venture to Punakha, the former winter capital of Bhutan, and marvel at breathtaking views of the Himalayan giants, including the majestic Gangkar Puensum, Bhutan’s highest peak.
As you traverse the picturesque landscapes, you’ll cross the Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3080 meters, en route to Punakha, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the historic Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong, ancient monastic fortresses that stand as testaments to Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage.
